Brief History of Quatsino

Settled in 1894 by Norwegian settlers they arrived on the old wooden steamship 'Mischief' with the dream of creating a new settlement on beautiful Quatsino Sound. (The children of the one room school performed as the Christmas concert play in 2003 a re-enactment of their first Christmas in Quatsino. It was the most hilarious play ever.) With a one year supply of provisions and all their worldly possessions this ship-load of men, women and children choose this remote stretch of shoreline to start building their new lives.
